Impressionante imboccatura verso l’Oceano Atlantico, si estende su una superfice di 40.240 kmq, che per la sua ampiezza fece esclamare Cristoforo Colombo, credendo di trovarsi nell’oceano e non nel delta e, nel momento in cui ne assaggiò l’acqua, “non ho mai visto tanta acqua dolce in un mare di acqua salata” . I 40.240 kmq sono formati da pantani e boschi di mangrovie attraversati da canali che si intrecciano tra loro. Molti canali si trasformano in piccole isole quando la
corrente non riesce a trasportare i vari sedimenti. Le isole che si formano hanno generalmente la forma diun piatto con bordi rialzati e ben coltivati, chiamati “Bancos” e depressioni al centro coperte dall’ acqua “le Cubetas”. La popolazione del Delta Amacuro, chiamata Warao, vive su palafitte e le principali attività
per la loro sopravvivenza sono la pesca e l’ artigianato, che è alla base della industria indigena: infatti essi, grazie alla palma di moriche, fabbricano graziose ceste che disegnano con colori estratti dalla pianta stessa e intrecciano stupende ceste e amache. Le missioni cattoliche, che aiutano molto gli indios nella crescita e nell’ educazione, insediatesi nell’area già dal 1682, sono gli unici legami con la civiltà e con il nostro mondo. Nel Delta il clima è umido tropicale, con una temperatura che oscilla tra i 28° e i 32° . Durante le escursioni si consiglia minirsi di impermeabile per ripararsi dalla pioggia e dagli schizzi d’acqua che salgono dal fiume alla barca durante la navigazione Il programma Delta Amacuro è consigliato a quanti si sentono motivati verso la scoperta di popoli, luoghi e costumi che nulla hanno a che vedere con la civiltà moderna, pertanto a quanti scelgono l’effettuazione di tale programma, si raccomanda un grande spirito di adattabilità per effetto della mancanza di quelle comodità tipiche degli alberghi e per qualche disagio dovuto a problemi organizzativi e logistici. Nello stesso tempo si richiede per tutti i programmi che seguono un minimo di forma fisica.

Le nostre proposte prevedono due tipologie di programma e due tipologie di sistemazioni. La prima, con una sistemazione confortevole (Rancho San Andres),
prevede un programma più leggero, meno impegnativo, la seconda invece prevede la navigazione verso l’interno del delta con sistemazione molto più spartana (Campo Mis Palafitos) e con un programma più avventuroso all’interno dei canali del grande Delta, specialmente se durante la effettuazione dello stesso si dovesse incontrare la pioggia (evento tra l’altro abbastanza frequente). Ambedue i programmi comunque rendono perfettamente l’idea di cosa è il Delta e come
vivono le comunità indigene Warao.

Programma delta dell’Orinoco
a’ la Carte (3 giorni /2 notti)

1°giorno = CARACAS - PUERTO ORDAZ o MATURIN - DELTA In orario e luogo da stabilirsi (normalmente nella presta mattinata), incontro con un nostro rappresentante locale e con macchina privata trasferimento in aeroporto per imbarcarsi sul volo diretto a Puerto Ordaz o a MATURIN ,con arrivo dopo cira 1h di volo. All’arrivo incontro con i nostri assistenti locali e trasferimento con macchina privata presso il RANCHO SAN ANDRES, (circa 1 ora di macchina) o CAMPAMENTO MIS PALAFITOS (circa 2h30min di macchina + circa 2 ore di barca lungo i canali del Delta). All’arrivo sistemazione nelle camere riservate, pranzo (solo se si arriva entro le ore 14:00-15:00. L’orario di arrivo dipende in modo particolare dagli orari di partenza dei voli da Caracas ). Pomeriggio
escursione nella selva o passeggiata a cavallo. Nel tardo pomeriggio rientro al campamento, per la cena e il pernottamento.

2°giorno = DELTA DELL’ ORINOCO
Trattamento di pensione completa. Intera giornata dedicata alle escursioni sui canali del delta del fiume per ammirare la flora e la fauna locale, sperimentare la pesca dei pirana e conoscere alcune comunità indigene dei Warao. In serata rientro in campamento per la cena e il pernottamento.

3°giorno = DELTA- PUERTO ORDAZ o MATURIN - CARACAS
Dopo la prima colazione tempo a disposizione (dipendente dall’ orario dei voli su Caracas per sfruttare le attrezzature del campamento con camminate a cavallo o più semplicemente per un breve relax nella piccola piscina(solo al campo San Andres) o ancora per una visita al vicino campo indiano per acquistare articoli dello splendido artigianato locale (si consiglia l’acquisto di amache di morice, a costi sbalorditivi rispetto ai costi di mercato). Trasferimento solo terrestre con macchina privata dal Campo San Andres, fluviale e terrestre per quanti scelgono la soluzione Mis Palafitos), presso l’aeroporto di Puerto Ordaz o Maturin per l’imbarco sul volo diretto a CARACAS. Arrivo a Caracas e partenza per i luoghi di destinazione.

Programma estendibile anche da MARGARITA,SENZA SUPPLEMENTO.
