El Jefe de Gobierno subrayó que el desarrollo del turismo es un crecimiento en Venezuela en el mundo. "Anteriormente, Venezuela fue transparente, no existe,
pero gracias al desarrollo nacional han crecido, Venezuela ha crecido y que tienen que decidir por sí mismo como un poder. "
"Tenemos que desarrollar estrategias para el corto, mediano y largo plazo para impulsar el turismo en nuestro país. Debemos dar a conocer que Venezuela es rica en sitios turísticos, hay selva como la Gran Sabana, Canaima, pero también tenemos playas, montañas y incluso la nieve ", dijo.
Del mismo modo indicó que como parte del turismo nacional, Venezuela es el trabajo realizado para desarrollar los acuerdos con Japón y China, y algunos de los enfoques se basan en el intercambio de turistas y la creación de empresas mixtas de servicios y producción, para impulsar el turismo en Venezuela y en los países asiáticos.
Durante su intervención, el Comandante Chávez inauguró un pase en vivo a través de el aeropuerto de Santa Elena Uairén en el estado de Bolívar, que tiene por objeto establecer nuevas vías para la penetración del Parque Nacional Canaima, a los turistas que disfrutan de este "gran atractivo natural.
